Dont like it, dont buy it. Cant afford it, dont buy it. Not sure how some of you are getting your rocks off attempting to insult everyone who chooses to upgrade or the guys stated they have sold their system already or in the process of and then still come around here in some failed attempt to antagonize people. The immaturity and school yard behavior is laughable. Hope your mom picks out matching socks and packs you a good lunch before you log on here!!!

Nobody's taking a dig at you, everybody is pissed off at Avid for releasing a $600 piece of software that essentially has a new splash screen and not much else. It's just unheard of, that's all.

Point taken. Everyone has a right to choose and making fun is childish. I consider myself an early adopter when it comes to software and I have loved Pro Tools since the beginning and especially versions 9, 10 and 11. I'm not thrilled about the high cost and paying every year, but I'd do it, I just need some reason, some inkling of hope that better features, stability etc. are there or truly coming soon. And for me, that'll be the tipping point, cool new features. It's galling that for the first time ever, Pro Tools has a major release and there's literally nothing to celebrate. Believe me I hope this thing turns around and soon. But sorry for the poking fun.

Did you upgrade because you saw value, or were you concerned about being left behind for the future? Or some other reason?

The only reason I would do it, would be to insure I was good for the future.

I don't see me doing that, but if I were, that would be the only reason at this point!

The big picture isn't really ones opinion about features here or even how people react to feeling let down.

Its the fact that Avid took its loyal "Supporting Customers" and decided they got enough out of them and now they are turning their backs on them. Hey lets face it Avid wants everyone to go to the subscription based version, they stand to make a killing.

I stated in my original post I am new and purchased the subscription and AVID is broken and I am getting a refund.

I went from 10HD to 11HD in November. 12 was included. Obviously not as bad a deal if I went from 11HD to 12HD.

Same here. I was in 10HD until New Year's. Bought the upgrade to 11HD plus whatever new features come out in "12" for the 600. So for that I got the new Audio Engine, the input buffer thingy, the um...whatever else was in 11 plus PROBABLY the track freeze and collaboration stuff should I choose to use it. I really think they shouldn't have called it "12" and opened themselves to criticism about it being a "nothing" release. Honestly I wasn't expecting to see anything until April anyway, so if this is just a continuation of 11 or the "new" 12 I don't care so much. Hey look they did something in the I-O window(!). I mean OK if it gets to be June or July and they don't release another update I'll be peeved, but I'm not going to be mixing on a different platform any time soon, so go Avid go. They could definitely communicate better about how soon all this is supposed to happen.
