Changing memory location number loses selection of audio on recall
With a memory location based on selection, when invoked, the selection shows up and the audio is highlighted (on the track in focus), as expected. If I renumber the memory location, and then recall it, I'm taken to the correct place in the timeline, and the in and out spots are marked on the timecode bar (above the tracks), but the audio is not selected.

Re: Changing memory location number loses selection of audio on recall
Even if your selector was on the track in question before recalling? Is the Editing preference "Recall Memory Location Selection at Original Track" checked?

Update: A friend just found a workaround until the bug gets fixed: Enable the Zoom settings checkbox when creating the selection-based memory location. Last edited by bob2014; 08-07-2018 at 12:12 PM. |

Re: Changing memory location number loses selection of audio on recall
Don't know your OS, but it's working fine for me on Win7, if I understand the problem. To be clear:
1. Open a session containing at least one audio track 2. Make a selection on it. 3. Hit Enter. 4. Choose "Selection" under Time Properties 5. Hit Enter. 6. Hit return or otherwise place selector elsewhere. 7. Open MemLocs window. 8. Double-click the newly made selection MemLoc and change its Number to, say, 99 and close. 9. Hit Return 10. Type .99. When I do that, I get the expected selection on whatever track my selector is on, whether it's an audio track or not.

Doing the steps you listed seems to keep the timeline selection, but the edit selection is no longer there, i.e. no tracks are highlighted anymore.

Re: Changing memory location number loses selection of audio on recall
Must be a Mac-only bug. Somebody add it to Ideascale.

macOS 10.12.6. Pro Tools 2018.4.
You have the steps listed correctly. Things work as expected until I change the memLoc number. A friend with an earlier version of macOS confirmed the bug, as did someone later in this thread. Thanks. |
