Not true, although there are better/more flexible solutions available now.

Care to list what alternative options there are for MacOS9 and MacOSX?

I recently upgraded from Jam 5 (OS 9) to Jam 6 (OS X) and they both seem to be buggy. I would love to hear about alternatives.

Waveburner looks very promising.
I've used it a little - but need to spend more time with it.
It is OS X now.
Now the bad news - I do believe - You need to own Logic Pro 7 for it to work.

FWIW I believe that Sonic Studio have released a native DDP application already and have foreshadowed the release of a CD mastering application Sonic Studio CD in 2005 together with a native DAW for OS X. You might want to have a look at this link : http://www.sonicstudio.com/products/...ter.html#SSDDP

I make the disclosure that I'm not a MasterList user. I'd so much like ProTools to feature a function to insert/edit/slide P's and Q's, burn direct on the fly and have better cross fade functionality. It would make the decision to stick with the program so much easier. Sequoia and Pyramix manage it in a native function in PC land.
