-9173 Conquerors...How Did You Do It?
Hey guys,
I started out with PT12 with zero -9173 errors. Along the way I've had a few of them, really more of an annoyance than anything else and not persistent enough to be a real problem. Suddenly, It's now a show-stopper! Over the holidays, in between projects, I did a little system maintenance. I updated Windows, optimised/defragged drives and installed a couple of apps. Suddenly, when I tried to open a large session I'd been working smoothly on in December, it wouldn't play because of -9173 errors every few seconds. The CPU meter was hitting 100%. Granted, this is a large session, but just before I did a rough mix of this session in late December, I'd updated Windows and drivers and created a couple of system images because everything was running so smoothly. I've tried several backups of the same session and a couple of other similar ones with no success. I've tried every trick I know, to no avail. Needless to say, I rolled back to the previous image. But the -9173 followed me there! Now I cannot play sessions that were running smoothly in December, with the exact same system I had then. Could it be a hardware issue? The only thing I've changed since then is screens. I went back to the old screens...no show. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but PT is unusable right now, and I've got to finish this project! Has anyone experienced hardware-related -9173 errors? I'm forced to think this way because I've rolled back my system to my most solid images, and I'm still getting -9173 every 2 or 3 seconds. Any help would be most welcome...

Re: -9173 Conquerors...How Did You Do It?
Any chance you could just roll back to 12.4? I've been using it for around a year (since switching to a PC in the studio) and I haven't had any issues with -9173s. Similar(ish) rig to yours, as well.

I don't know if it will help you any but the only hardware issue that I had that caused that was a RAM stick that went crazy on me.

I tried that after a clean uninstall. Before that, I'd tried re-installing 12.8.1 P It didn't work. That's what makes me feel it could be a hardware issue.

What symptoms did you see that showed you the RAM was bad?

Re: -9173 Conquerors...How Did You Do It?
Hi lesburn !
Sorry to hear that . Since that is a CPU related error and you have a very good system by your profile . I think it is a configuration problem . Double check your windows configurations settings for PT. Take a look at your task manager and look for unwanted apllications runing in background and startup. Also double check your Bios setting about CPU stepping .

Re: -9173 Conquerors...How Did You Do It?
Symptoms were what seemed to be random blue screens and 9173. It turned out to be load related, I guess whenever the second stick was pushed. I don't really know why. It started after a cpu upgrade from I5 to i7 so at first I tried changing cpu back but the problem stayed. I don't know if the new processor stressed it(probably) more but I tried running with one stick at a time and found it when the problem showed on that stick .Put the new cpu back and working fine

I've done all of the above. My system power and services are well tweaked for PT use. There's no CPU stepping. Thinking it could be a bios issue, I also flashed the bios.

Re: -9173 Conquerors...How Did You Do It?
I've been seeing -9093 errors and transport stops in all versions of PT12(HD here) and finally(last week) narrowed it to the internet(or something with my cable modem/router setup). As long as I disconnect the connection to the outside world, I get almost zero errors and spikes(if I try to instantiate Ozone 8 while playback is rolling, that will also spike and throw the error so I remember to stop before adding that plugin
