Default Latency with PTHD 12

Hi Folks,

I have a Mac-based HDX system - with an Avid HD-IO - that I just recently upgraded to the Sierra operating system, and Pro Tools upgrade to 12.5.2

I now have a significant amount of latency on my sends. Also, the hardware setup gives me that button that you use to open a third party hardware setup application. Usually it goes straight to the hardware page of the HD-IO. Any ideas what I'm missing here?

Thanks,
Tony

First, see this chart for OS compatibility. The oldest PT version for Sierra is 12.6.

Also note that from 12.6 onwards, a new license is needed. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...-and-Downloads

Second, what's your playback engine set to? Sounds like it's not the HDX card.

That's the weird thing... the current playback engine IS the HDX. But I think the OS compatibility might be the issue. Because of my current ALP license, I need to stay on PT12.5.2. Any ideas on downgrading my OS?

Operating system was the problem. I downgraded to El Capitan, and all is well. Thanks!

Abeard and Drew, I’m noticing about 27ms of delay upon recorded tracks as well (PTHD 12, yosemite, 192 i/o), no matter which pre I use. Tried all buffer settings. No plugins. Any thoughts?
