Default vnc slowing d-show?

Hi

Has anyone had problems with the connection between laptop and the console via vnc? We noticed that when establishing a connection between a macbook pro and the console via a wireless router the console's meters slow down. I'm not sure if the problem came with the 2.8.1 or 2.8.2.

Thanks, Ilkka

Hi everyone,

We'll check this out, but in the meantime can anyone confirm (by direct comparison) that the performance is different between version 2.7.x and version 2.8.x? Even better, if you can shoot a quick video showing the difference that would help.

Sheldon

Hey Folks,

So far the only difference that I can see is that the onscreen meters do seem more sluggish with 2.8.x versus 2.7.x. Is this what you're referring to? This does seem unusual (that the host machine would be bogged down by the VNC connection), so I'll escalate this issue.

Control surface meters look totally normal to me (phew!!).

Thanks,
Rich

Rich,

Not only do the onscreen meters on the console slow down, on our system the entire laptop connection is very slow to the point that its unusable. It worked fine before we went to 2.8.x from 2.7.x.

Default Vnc?

How much does connecting up wireless laptop thru VNC impact how the console responds. It was our first time this afternoon of connecting and our FOH engineer felt it really bogged things down. Is the lag time you feel when adjusting stuff normal when the VNC computer is connected. This is on console itself and not on the laptop

Running 2.8 software.

Default Re: Vnc?

I had an odd problems with Waves Live a few months ago. We discussed using a different VNC platform on the Digi computer as a possible option. It had more settings and options. I uninstalled the Digi ethernet control software and re-installed it and the slowness went away so I never changed it. But I do believe there VNC platforms that have more controls and may go faster. The problem is that it is only a belief. I'd want a network expert with me to install it who understood what was going on...
