Exporting Poly Wav files for picture dept from PT
Hi,
I wish to use my PT 12 rig to record many tracks at once and then wrap them as a Poly file and send to picture editorial. Is there a method that will do this with adding a silly suffix to make it conform to the 5.1 or 7.1 SMPTE standard. I would like to be free to send along a 10 track poly. Is this possible in 2018?

Are you running HD or non-HD software? Pretty sure you need HD to get surround features, but I have a vague memory of something from Nyrinck that allowed for Surround work on non-HD, so maybe consult the oracle(google)

I believe that you can use Wave Agent, which is free from Sound Devices, to do what you want.
Pro Tools HD really wants to wrap in Film (LCRLsRsLFE) order. Good luck, Randall Quote:

Re: Exporting Poly Wav files for picture dept from PT
Hi,
Using 12HD I guess I want wave agent functionality within Protools and not this moronic Film/SMPTE/Atmos layout being forced upon my workflow... I guess I want too much.

Re: Exporting Poly Wav files for picture dept from PT
If you add the track suffix .A1,.A2 etc up to the track count you want to the individual files then PT will export a poly wav that will import as such (and not a surround format suffix mess) to your picture editor.
