It's official - nothing from fxpansion until October
According to this thread: http://www.fxpansion.com/forum/viewt...?p=87029#87029
Angus is saying nothing from fxpansion until October and that's for public beta. Who knows when final release will even be? Between that and no NI that kills PT11 for me. Thankfully I've just got the demo. Looks like it's PT10 and VEPro as the main selling point of PT11 for me was being able to use all 32 gig of ram I have. I mean - why spend money for the PT11 upgrade AND VEPro at the same time? Double expense isn't my game. |

Re: It's official - nothing from fxpansion until October
Yeah man, that's too bad. I just got Tremor and was hoping to be using it in PT11 within a couple weeks, but what I am REALLY missing is BFD2 and Synth Squad. I can do plenty of stuff in Geist and Tremor in standalone, so I'm not in a big hurry on those, but you NEED a DAW to really use BFD2 and Synth Squad.
Yes they both run in standalone, but they are not much use to me if I can't sequence with them in a logical way. Sure I could sequence my pallets in BFD2's drum track and export, but this is not an ideal workflow for using drums in the context of a song. Standalone is fine when putting together kits and creating grooves/pallets, but it's not an efficient way to work when using the drums in a song. I guess some are using Reaper to rewire BFD2 in to PT11, so that's a workaround for now. At least Avid has let us co-install 10.3.6 so we can still use our plugins until everything gets converted. Here's hoping FXpansion beats their goal and get's them out sooner.

Yeah - Softube is September as well. Good news though as Blue Cat now has everything AAX 64 bit.

Re: It's official - nothing from fxpansion until October
This is terrible news for many of us. PT11 as great as it is, will only be of use for composers when Angus (Fxpansion) and his counterparts get this moving.
Perhaps Slate will step up here and save the day.

But yeah, looking at what is there now, it's pretty lame that PT11 isn't getting a lot of 3rd party plugs for awhile.

Toontrack today said they are "on course" for Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer next week and possibly EZ Keys. That's not a guarantee, but the outlook is good.

At least Toontrack got one out this week. SD2 will be a big help to get me to move my stuff over.

Re: It's official - nothing from fxpansion until October
Does Reaper rewire into PT11? I got the Reaper demo to try but the only rewire I get showing up in the plug ins list (believe it or not) is Waves Rewire!
