Mix Split Question with 192 i/o
I need the main final mix, stereo mix outputs to go to BOTH the analog outputs AND the AES outputs on my 192 i/o interface. So far I can't seem to do it? I know how to assign multiple outputs on audio tracks, but not on the master fader?!?

I've never had to do that but... Maybe add a second master fader assigned to the other outputs?

Sorry, that was unclear.
Can I route my signal to 2 places on my interface after the master stereo fader?!?

Yeah, I guess I would duplicate my master fader track and assign the duplicate to the other outputs.

Re: Mix Split Question with 192 i/o
Slang,
No, assigning another master fader doesn't work. Seems the only mess around is to use an aux stereo input as your master fader, then use a send to another output on the box. However, this is extremely messy. Digi, can't we just configure the i.o setup to double up some outputs? It's a lame way to mix... you put the multimple outputs on the individual tracks.. why not the master fader?!? Sorry for the dbl post... I planned that to go along with the question I'm asking about double outputs.

Re: Mix Split Question with 192 i/o
I found the answer in my handy Digidesign 192 i/o manual. You can do it. You just have to go back to default and start over with i/o.

Re: Mix Split Question with 192 i/o
very weird way to do it... seems like a kludge solution but it works great.
Go to page 20 of manual... Basically, when you revert to "default settings" in your hardware setup, it automatically mults analog output 1 & 2 and the enclosures AES outputs. You're screwed if you want >96k and 2 outputs at once. It says you can also "route" them using the control key but I couldn't make that work and am now officially tired of dealing with it... I got my solution and I'm moving on to trying to understand my wife's pms... a worthy challenge.

Re: Mix Split Question with 192 i/o
Hi,
Have you tried command-control-clicking the output of the master fader to an AES output of the digital I/O card? That's the way you used to do it in a Mix system. Hope this helps, MasterJ |
