that's cool. did not try to hijack thread... just i did not understand. at least with commit i can dump one of my other DAWs... the only reason i kept it around was 'cos it was simpler to bounce midi to audio stems. :) cheers

Track commit really is great. I finished a corporate composition job for a client yesterday that has gone through multiple edits, client feedback etc, being able to commit all my VI's in one go, with tails intact but all silence stripped, but retaining sends, automation, groups, bus assignments track colours etc, that was a really great moment for me. Previously would have spent easily half an hour to do that stuff manually. And I was able to go in and find an annoying little click that one of the VIs was creating that I could not get rid of until committing the track. Very happy indeed with track commit.

I'm one of the caring individuals lol. I have to send and receive sessions pretty consistently. Being able to do all that from within pro tools would be awesome. Sharing sessions thru third parties like dropbox and yousendit etc is ok. But its third parties. I say cut out the middle man.

I also work on stuff with other people in different cities sometimes and this would save a lot of importing time discrepancies and other session glitches. Everyone is on the same session. Nice and tidy.

I also think everybody being islands onto themselves is one of the current downfalls of music. People need to collaborate more. I always prefer being in the same room for creative energy but this is at least a step forward. And instead of running multiple solutions i.e. Dropbox/gobbler, FaceTime/skype, source elements etc, let everything be streamlined in one app.

I can't wait to try it out.

the cloud feature is one of those instances where the non programmers/marketing guys go "hey make it do this and this!" and don't know how much time and effort its going to actually take to make stuff sync up that well, and prematurely advertise it 1 year before hand, 2015 ends and its not htere. They overestimated, the implementation especially on pro tools is probably harder than it sounds. Whatever stage theyre at its probably super buggy still

The backward compatibility requirements of corporate Pro Tools users is staggering and it's a much much deeper program on the post side than most people realize.

And to Bob's point. Many of us seem to forget how tough it must be to add all of these new features, and still maintain backward compatibility the way Pro Tools must. We have some very talented developers here.

And that's not to mention plug-in compatibility. Most of us have far more invested in plug-ins than any DAW. Pro Tools is a system.
