Default just installed 11.2.2 on nMP - uninstall before updating to 11.3?

Last night I began the process of fresh installing PT11.2.2, Air Creative Collection and all 3rd party plugins on my new MacPro (2013). PT11.2.2 is working fine (based on very quick check) and I'm less than halfway through the process of downloading, installing and authorizing 3rd party plugins.

Now I see that 11.3 has been released - what timing!

At this point I plan to just keep going, finish reinstalling all plugins, verify that everything's working and then update to PT11.3.

Possibly stupid question: I shouldn't need to un-install PT11.2.2, correct? The download and install of PT11.3 will simply overwrite/update the PT software and everything else - Air Collection and plugins - should be unaffected, right?

There is no uninstaller for PT11, it's not needed.

Just run the new 11.3 installer, and it'll know what to do.

The 11.3 installer isn't a drag and drop like the last few. It is labeled as a Full Installer. I uninstalled 11.1.3 from the new installer then installed 11.3. Also if you are running HD install the drivers after installing ProTools because the driver installer requires a restart but ProTools does not. Just a bit of a time saver.

I do believe Drag and Drop installers for PT11 will return. This one was done this way to get it out the door more quickly and to lessen issues with OSX gatekeeper.

Correct, though we do have a report in another thread about the Video Engine not loading so might be best to delete the PT app before running the 11.3 installer. (Waiting to hear back on that thread.)

Regards,
JC

I appreciate the replies. I can wait - It'll take me at least the rest of the afternoon and eve to finish updating plugins so I'll probably hold off a day before updating to PT11.3.

JC, with that Video Engine issue in mind, would you recommend simply deleting the PT11.2.2 app from the Applications folder before installing 11.3? Or running an uninstaller (which I'm assuming is an option in the 11.3 install folder, based on CygnusX's post).
