Default Volume Boosting (Export) Extremely Urgent

Hello.

I have just finish recording, mixing, and mastering my bands demo. I Use pro tools 8 m powered on mac osx. I applied a master fader to the tracks, and set it to where it stayed out of the clip range and exported then songs. Then I opened a session in protools. Applied my mastering plug ins and pushed the volume as loud as it could go before clipping, then applied a no overs volume control, and maxim mastering plug in. The songs sound great, except the are VERY low in volume. The distort very badly in Itunes, but when i burn them they are completely fine. Problem is, normally when I play a cd on my surround sound system in my living room, I normally only have to have the volume up half way for it to be pretty loud, and if I turn it up ALL the way, i can hear it LOUDLY on my patio. However, MY songs have to be maxed out on the volume control and hardly even make you "feel" them in the living room itself.

Long story short, is there ANY way to boost the volume of these songs greatly, without distorting them? Sorry for the rush, but I have to get these to pressing TODAY and VERY VERY soon might I add. Thank you guys so much.

There isnt too much anyone can tell you to get proficient in getting a good, loud, punchy master in a DAY. Sounds to me like you may be cooking it in maxim AND bringing the volume down at the SAME TIME. But without seeing what is going on, Im just guessing.

Sounds to me like you've simply squashed the tracks with all of the limiting/compression. This doesn't necessarily make anything "louder."

As far as I know, Peak levels in PT and the "loudness" in your stereo system are going to be completely different levels.

Which is why I don't master my own stuff.
