Default Track Show / Hide issues with Session Data Import

I've noticed this for a while now and don't see a thread mentioning it. Any time I import session data that involves tracks that are inactive and hidden pro tools gets confused with their visual status and shows them. Usually I have to select one of the tracks that is visible but labeled as hidden and select show for things to be corrected. after doing that all the tracks hide as they should. Has anyone identified a conflict that causes this? I'm running OS 10.6.2 PT 8.0.3cs1 on a MacPro with 12GB of Ram. I just built a fresh OS three weeks ago to try and rule out my plugs / installs with some of the other beloved issues were seeing under 8.0.3

Thanks!

Hi,

I definitely wish that all hidden tracks in the session you're importing from, would come into the new session with some kind of flagging to let us know which tracks were hidden. or better still when you go to import session data from a track it identifies which tracks were hidden so we can choose not to import them!!

I often have to load the original session that people send me just to check which tracks were actually in the edit window and being used.

I'm with you regarding some kind of flagging or indicator post an import. Have you had issues with tracks that are technically inactive and hidden being visible after an import. When I click on their menu the status option says Show but I can already see them...

Hi,

Yes any inactive and hidden tracks are NOT hidden when imported!

We just need to be able to identify them before and after importing any hidden or inactive tracks.

Correct but what I'm seeing are tracks that aren't hidden when Pro Tools thinks they are based upon the hide vs view option. I can see them but the option only allows me to view them instead of hid them. If I select view they hide.

Yeah, this has been bothering me for a while as well. The tracks are visible although in the "Tracks" bin they are marked as hidden. Showing or hiding any track seems to kick PT back into gear. Super confusing at first though....
