Another EchoBoy fan here as it allows me to get both the David Gilmour sound as well as the Edge's sound in one plugin. Between EB and Sandman Pro I have my delay bases covered.

Also the Waves Abbey Road J37 is IMHO the best tape delay. Is is great on vocals. You can make sound clean and modern, but also very lo-fi. The H-Delay is also great and of cause Echoboy (also the Junior version).

The new Waves AB Roads Room is great for slap. The D16 company has great slap delay plugins.

I use the J37 was vox and EchoBoy for instruments.

That's pretty what I do too. Though I find myself using H-delay most of time, especially on vocals, but I think it will depend on genre. Did not test the new AR Room yet for all applications, but it is definitely sweet. J37 for tape delay -- I simply cannot think of better or more versatile tape delay. Echoboy and D16 Sigmund are nice, I could also mention PSP85, but I tend using them much much less.

Actually that Stone room in Abbey Road Chambers is something I want to try out for slap back. With and without the STEED feature engaged.

I don't think the rooms alone will produce enough delay for the classic slapback effect, you can move the mics and turn the speaker to the walls but the delay doesn't change much if at all.

Well I have tried it now, with the STEED. I wasn’t after a classic slapback effect, I’m not a fan of it in most cases. I just something small, dryish and intimate... and I got it too.

I loved it so much to save track preset with it. Longer STEED tempos can get into Pink Floyd's grounds.
