Quick question about 9 and 10
It's been a while since I've been on the forums and checking out pro tools. I have a MacBook pro with lion on it and have the "beta" of 9 that runs on lion. Now I saw that 10 is compatible with lion but is 9 REALLY compatible or is it still a "beta"? If it is do I basically have to pay the upgrade fee to get a version of pro tools that is compatible with lion?
Thanks in advance! |

Unfortunately Avid forgot about its PT9 customers and focused on PT10 which is qualified for Lion! Pt9 should be fully qualified soon! If there's anyone left at Avid to do it How is it running on Lion? I have a test Lion boot partition but it wasn't running well with me, it was taking a long time to instantiate plugins in a session, so I'm sticking on SL which is running great at the moment. Chris

Re: Quick question about 9 and 10
My first time installing it and running it locked my computer up like fort Knox to put it lightly
I then uninstalled everything and tried again and it's been acting like a "beta". That's the best way to put it really. I am kind of shocked they just dropped the ball on lion users. I haven't used it much anymore since all the troubles in the first place. Now I see 10 is compatible with lion but has a huge upgrade fee(to me it's huge just to get compatibility for lion) |

Re: Quick question about 9 and 10
I have it on good authority that 9.0.6 will be out soon and cover the Lion issue(that maybe the ONLY thing it covers). Blame Apple for changing OS every 4 months

There's no reason why Snow Leopard shouldn't work on a new Macbook.

Re: Quick question about 9 and 10
You can put snow leopard on a new machine. My friend did it. But this is all beyond the point. If your mad apple upgraded i bet your really pissed avid DIDNT and then for you to get compatible software have to give your first born. I want to know why there still isn't a compatible version of pro tools 9 since the release in July and if anyone has heard about a 9.0.6.
