Macpower MD4 Super-S Combo - anyone?

anybody using this? Any thoughts? Will it work with PT? maybe even as raid? Cheers!

RAID will not work as a PT audio drive. This kind of enclosure can be very helpful nonetheless. To store massive sample or mix archives with a good level of data security, these are great. You should still have a true backup of the content, though. RAID does fail, sometimes. Plugging an enclosure like this to an old computer you have around can also give you the equivalent of a NAS for a fraction of the price. I don't have feedback on this particular unit or manufacturer, though.
I've found units of this type to be of great use, but not for audio drive duties. Who needs 2TB of audio drive, anyways? |
