Euphonix MC Mix - Faceplate Repair
Hey guys,
If any owner of the old but good silver Euphonix MC Mix has the infamous cracked faceplate issue: I've just done a replacement with the Avid branded black faceplate. It works perfectly and puts new life in the unit as cracked faceplate might harm the fader motors over time as they could scratch the front. Here's a single 9 min video of the repair and the steps involved if you need to check out the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jeCjCWDjbc You only need a T10 Torque screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver and a small Allen key. A couple of things to take care of: - Don't lose any screws, and use proper bits. Might would use gloves to protect from grease, static electricity. Or don't. We aren't dentists, right? - Observe how the shield is mounted before taking it of. - When the unit is all unscrewed, protect the soft knobs from going out of place, the faceplate is holding them down. - Remount the faderknobs correctly, (standoffs go right) Take care everyone, have a great weekend and happy engineering! Regards, Aldo Spadaro |
