Bouncing individual midi notes
Hi, I normally record a drum rhythm using keyboards but once i have my pattern down in midi how can i then record the individual midi notes to audio?
Meaning, having dedicated tracks for the hat, kick, snare, crash symbol, etc... This way mixing would be easier, thanks |

Re: Bouncing individual midi notes
What drum VI do you use?
I know strike has the ability to route each channel separately to individual audio tracks in PT. I suspect it's the same for most if not all drum VI's. Have you checked the user guide of the VI that you use?

Quote:
The old way of doing this would be to make new midi tracks, Copy and paste your midi track to each new track, and then take out the unwanted notes (use the hand tool, go to the beginning of the midi track and select the basing yourself on the piano keys of the editor). repeat for all, then mute each midi track as you bounce. that's the long way, but it's one way. On the other hand you could always assign a midi channel to each midi track you have, if your vi allows you to set a midi channel to each samples, then you can trigger them that way. But the problem will remain that if you can't assign an out for each audio track, you will have to bounce each parts separately. |

Re: Bouncing individual midi notes
I'm using keyboards like the motif, fantom and triton extreme.
Emcha your answer is probably what I'll do, never even thought of that. Create new midi tracks, copy/paste data, then remove unwanted notes. Thanks |
