PT 7.2 Upgrade Cost

I purchased the PT7 upgade less than 6 Months ago for $175. The upgrade to PT 7.2 from any previous version of PT is $175. No credit for a software purchase less than 6 months old. That's ridiculous! I don't expect a free upgrade, but come on........

Come on guys, get a life. These are professional tools for people whose entire lives are dependent on this stuff working. We are so thankful to Digi for listening to the things we needed to get done and finally doing it.....!!!!

If you don't want to pay for it, DONT. But don't complain about paying a tiny amount of money for so much stuff!!!

How else is this stuff going to get done if they can't charge at least something for it???

hehehe i have bought one new HD3 PCIe in the end of March 2006 with inside PT HD7.1

after 4 months i have to upgrade the 7.2 for $199 ?

This update should have been called Pro Tools 8.0. Well worth the money. I've been on this platform since version 1.1.5 and I've never seen so many useful features added in one update. Pay the man.

But, didn't you buy the system 4 months ago because it met your needs? It isn't going to burst into flames without the absolute newest version intalled. If the benefits of the new features aren't worth the money to you then stay with 7.1 and keep rockin'!

I wish that when I bought a car 6 months ago I could pay some trifling amount to get it upgraded to Sat Nav, ABS, Side airbags etc. This is possibly the most significant upgrade yet. I will happily upgrade. Take a good look at the features then decide if you need to upgrade. No one is holding a gun to the Dolphin's head to make you buy it.
