Need help on ZOOM TOOLS !

Hi everyone,
I am new to pro tools 10 as well as this forum, and this is my first post. Currently, I am learning how to use pro tools 10 by reading 101 books as well as learning from some helpful websites.

The Issue:

How do I zoom to the waveform by using mouse. I learned by myself that we can zoom in by scrolling the balls from the mouse while holding ALT key to zoom in and out. But it is not very smooth as it looks like it grids.... So how do I use mouse to zoom in but smoothly like I use with other programs such as Nuendo or Studio One V2. I use to click and drag up and down on the time, beat bar.

See those little numbers in the upper left corner of the edit window, 1 thru 5? The left arrow above them zooms out, the right arrow zooms in.
