Default Computer Freezing up on Shutdown

I upgraded to PT LE 6.1.1 and now when I shut down the computer, it freezes up on the Windows XP screen. I uninstalled PT and all associated hardware and the system shuts down fine. Reinstalled and its back to not wanting to shutdown again.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks

Uninstall all aspects of Pro Tools, search for and delete all occurences the file dalwdm.sys - include your system folders in the search.

Reboot.

Update your video card drivers and reboot.

Install 6.1 (not the ASIO or WaveDriver)

Reboot.

Make sure 6.1 works and you can quit XP.

hi Rail. I have this problem too, but I need the ASIO drivers (and I like to have the WaveDriver too). Is there another workaround, and what is that dalwdm.sys file? The WaveDriver? Is it safe to remove it from the installation?
Regards, Andrιs
