Which version of Windows 10 are you using...For me both aax DSP and native crashes PTHD 2018.1. And i tried everything... I moved every other plugin out of the Plugins Folder. So only MDWEQ5 is in the folder. Then i trashed preferences, so PTHD reinit the mdweq Plugin. The first time PTHD crashed when try to read the plugin at startup. Second time, it worked... But Protools still crashes, when i insert the plugin and its the only plugin i have in the plugins folder. So no other plugin could be the reason of the crashes...

Did you install the latest update of windows 10. The function update, which won´t be installed by Auto Update. (it was released end of december and windows popped up with the message that a new big update is downloadable)

I installed that one and maybe this causes the plugin to crash...

As Tom@Metro said I haven't really had a problem with MDW thought I rarely use it but when I do it's usually the DSP version. Since I've read this thread I want to know exactly what is happening....I mean does it crash your system on session load or when it's instantiated on an insert or crash after a short time? I have a test session I'm going to work on and I'm going to place several MDWEQ5 on a couple tracks just to see what happens on my system. My problem is that damn Duende SSL Bus Compressor. If I can get the session to load, PT will crash during session close.

Protools HD 2018.1 crashes immediately after inserting the mdweq5...It opens the windows crash window, that this software doesn´t work anymore and must be closed a report will be send to microsoft...

Won't be til tonight and or tomorrow when I'll have time to run a session test on this. Thank you for the info.

This is what happens if I try to load a session with the Duende SSL Bus Compressor on it without disabling all plugins at session load.

I run winver 1709 with latest updates. The issue here with MDW was not so much crashing, but constant errors.

Be sure you have turned of all CPU throttling and c-state options in bios. There are some systems that will run with increased stability when Hyperthreading is also turned off. Have you tried any of this?

I tried following... Disable VT-d and Hyperthreading... no luck still crashing...
How do i turn off CPU throttling?...

I made a backup and restored my pc... It installed the latest version of windows...
It was a clean install... The only programs, i have installed, were PTHD 2018.1 and MDWEQ5... So it is a clean windows without any other software... Still crashing when using mdweq5...

The last trie is to revert from a old backup, where an old version of windows is installed. If its still crashing, then i don´t know, what to do...

Is Fabfilter Pro Q 2 a good alternative with the same quality of MDWEQ. Then i will accept, that i paid 600$ for nothing, but i have a new goto eq...

It may be called Turbo Boost. And all C-State needs to be disabled.

Sonnox eq with the Massenberg option is not a bad thing. And yes, I do like FabFilter.

Now i reverted to an old Windows Version 1703...and installed PTHD 2018.1
Now the plugin crashes PTHD with the error message
Access violation occurred
cannot read 0x000000000000

So strange, I swear it worked and i did not change my system or anything.
Every other plugin works with no problems... I have the Sonnox Eq with GML and it works fine...only the mdweq5 crashes PTHD and i don´t know why...
I never changed something in the Bios... Every Hardware Test passes with no error... I am really crazy now, cause i reverted the pc to the state, it was shipped and back then the mdweq5 worked, but now... It doesn´t matter, what i do... It crashes Protools with an error message...

The GML Option for Sonnox isn´t like the mdweq5... But i am off now.. I will purchase the Pro Q 2, but it has no aax DSP...
