PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
I've been noticing lately that the cursor won't always change to the appropriate icon when using the "smart tool".
For example, occasionally when I want to trim and I place the cursor over the appropriate area of the clip to do so, the cursor will remain looking like the grabber or I beam selector though it will still let me trim. It still functions like it should when I click to do the edit, it just appears that the cursor can be wrong in appearance. Kind of like smart tool editing in the dark which isn't so good for those that use smart tool almost exclusively like myself. Anyone else getting this behavior? I wish I knew how exactly to reproduce it but so far it's just an occasional nuisance. -Justin

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
that bug's been around since PT8 if not before, and it can happen with manual tool changes also. What exactly did they FIX in PT10? I was almost ready to plunk down my cash (year-end purchase), but with the reports showing up now, I'm not at all sure anymore. This is how come I never upgraded to 9!

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
Yeah I skipped over from 8.0.1 and assumed it was something new in 10. Thanks for the heads up postman. All in all I am happy with this release, just trying to bring some of this funk to the light. There are definitely still some kinks but for what I use Pro Tools for it isn't major.

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
I have something very similar. But this occurs when I'm editing eg. some clip gain, load up some plugins, and on the plugins ui I see the grabber tool, etc. It works fine, just a minor graphical issue.
Not serious, but sometimes catches my eyes.

Sometimes zooming in and out fixes this.

I've always had this on and off. However lately it seems to be happening a whole lot more. Usually when I'm spotting FX with Netmix. It will just get graphically stuck on one tool (but still function normally).

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
Yes, it seems like some sort of bad graphic memory allocation. If I have multiple software open it happens more. It's still only a guess, but seems related.

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
It happens to me after taking a long break (10 min). To fix it I cycle thru windows using Command ` (the key below the Escape key). Till I come back to the Edit Window.

Re: PT 10 Smart Tool Cursor bug/weirdness
I've only ever noticed it since I switched to 10. Seems like if I switch to a browser or other app it will do it.
I tab switch apps and back and it fixes it |
