Protective coating
Have had my c24 for about 3 months and already, what seems to be a protective synthetic film below the faders and transport controls, is rapidly deteriorating. It is not only wearing and lifting where I constantly place my hands, but is starting to lift and bubble in places that I hardly touch.
Has anyone else had this problem, and does Digi recognise it as a manufactoring fault? |

Re: Protective coating
Check an auto parts store for clear headlamp protection film which you can cut with scissors and it will self-stick on places that you fear will wear too fast. I haven't seen this problem before.

Re: Protective coating
Oh yeah I had my C24 about two weeks before the rubberized arm rest(I'm assuming this is what your talking about) began to rub off just below the transport buttons and a little underneath the first couple of faders, mostly on the edge though where I would rest my hands. Not going as fast since I put it in an argosy but it it still annoying that it has done this. Not sure what digis take is on this.

Re: Protective coating
Ahhh yes.... a well known flaw in SOME C24's.
How old is the unit in question? I used to think it only happened on older units, but mine is 9 years old without the issue, and I've seen newer ones with it...... It appears there's no rhyme or reason to it. Mine is almost 9 years old and still looks great aside from a few minor hairline scuffs and a bit of blotchyness from oils which cleans off nicely with a 'windex damped' paper towel. I also have mine in an Argosy Console which keeps my grubby little hands off the rest, but even before the Argosy I didn't have this issue. I tried to get an answer from Digi as to why this happens on some and not others and had no solid answer worth stating. The only coating/printing flaw on mine has to be the transport buttons themselves whose markings are slowly thining and rubbing off..... I'm sure someday me, my sharpy, and some masking tape will have to have some words with them.

Re: Protective coating
I've had my Control 24 for one year now and all the coating is off the arm rest.
Now it's coming off the sides. Go figure. Guy
