CPU spikes with NI Komplete Kontrol
At first I thought maybe if they couldn't spell Complete or Control correctly maybe they just weren't very smart.
But now I think it's just a weird PT/NI compatibility thing. I'm wondering if any of you guys have run across this. Every once in a while I'll load up a session that I used Kompete Kontrol in, and it'll just start banging the CPU meter something fierce. Terrible pops and clicks to the point of sounding like distortion, yada yada. Increasing buffer size fixes it, but generally I'm ok to stay at 128 in an 88.2 session, even through a mix. Point is, I discovered by accident that if I make a new instrument track and Alt-drag copies of my plugs onto it, then drag my MIDI blocks onto the new track and disable the original track, the problem goes away. Same resources used...just something about THAT particular instrument track. PT 2018.4 on Win 10 pro, 3.8GHz Xeon, 16 gigs of RAM. Any of you ever run into anything like this? |
