EXCEPT when I am playing back in the edit window and I have the multi-tool selected and I am using scrolling --- when ever my cursor is to right of the playhead/scrolling line -- My cursor arrow flickers and has either the grab icon or the select icon showing underneath the flickering cursor arrow.
If I click and swipe it appears to select ok so it is no an issue so much as an annoyance to quick workflow . If I stop playback then the muti-tool behaves as normal
I get that sometimes when my window is set to certain zoom levels, then I zoom in or out and it ceases. PT seems unable to make up its mind about which tool to suggest. I wouldn't expect that to be OS dependent but maybe Ventura handles mouse location reporting differently.

Well I did not notice it happening on either Catalina or Monterey ?? (which may or may not be accurate )
But yes someone else suggested just nudge the screen in or out an it goes away

Let us know if that helps with the issue.

Yes just tried and it works Now I did not for example get it to work than close the session quit PT then relaunch and see what happens---- but it definitely seemed to work while working in the session .

All I had to do was nudge the corner of screen just a tiny bit and the flickering stoped And from then on while playing back the cursor would then show only the appropriate multi- tool icon for the vertical position in the track = Like say grab tool in the lower 1/2 and select tool in the upper 1/2

I just upgraded my 2019 Mac Pro to 13.2.1 coming from the latest Monterey.

I have the cursor/tool issue permanently. Doesn't matter if running or stopped, as soon as I choose a tool the cursor turns back to its normal arrow icon immediately. When I move the cursor it starts flashing the selected tool and arrow intermittently. When I halt the cursor, it reverts back to the arrow. But I can use the tool I selected.
The aforementioned fix in this thread (nudging the window) does help.

FWIW my MacPro has the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16GB video card. Might be related to it, since Nugen for example said they know of an issue with their plugin's GUI when running on this video card. Since K Roche also has a Radeon Pro 5700 it might well be this chip.

Same bug on my M1 MacBook Air running macOS 13.2.1 - PT 2022.12 (in Beta mode).

I have to say I am very impressed with the improved performance. Now that almost all of my plugins are AS-native my sessions run using half (or less) the CPU vs. using Rosetta.

I'm having second thoughts about upgrading to an M2 MBP.

Here too. I've tried zooming and nudging the window as suggested, but it doesn't help.

Trimming edit window horizontal size by any amount always fixes it here (until the next session). It's probably already been mentioned in this thread, but from Avid CS a couple weeks ago:
--------------------------
"This issue is related to a known bug and logged as PT-294557 and is already being reviewed by our team, pending prioritization in their backlog. We do not have an ETA for the fix at the moment. From this point on, we will need to leave it up to Engineering.

Here is the bug number for reference if you want to follow up in the future:
PT-294557 The Selector and Grabber cursor icons quickly revert back to an arrow in Ventura"

Not that it needs further documentation, but I spotted the issue as well just yesterday. In my case the cursor still functioned as I'd expected, I just had to look past the spastic redraws.
