PT can't load some of my plugins because there are not valid 64 bit AAX
Hello,
I just reset my Windows 10 and reinstalled all my sofwares and plug-ins. I've got an issue, when I load my ProTools 2020.9.1, it said that PT can't load some of my plugins (Kush Audio and Slate Digital) because there are not valid 64 bit AAX. I found this topic and tried to update my W10 which was at version 1903 (a late version for PT 2020.9 which needs W10 1909).I updated my Windows 10 1903 to Windows 10 2004 version, but the issue is still present, still can't load theses plug-ins. I also tried to downgrade W10 to the minimal version required for ProTools 2020.9.1, the 1909 version, but didn't find one. And my last try was to trash the ProTools prefs and didn't change nothing. Do you have a solution to my problem ? I've got a Intel Core i7 5500U and 12Go RAM Thank you for your time and help. Last edited by jeffro; 10-14-2020 at 12:01 PM. Reason: Moved from macOS forum to AAX Plugins. |

Re: Suddenly PT won't load Plug-Ins because not valid 64-bit

You are posting this on a Mac forum area about a past problem that was very specific to Macs and will not be the cause of your problem on Windows. Maybe a moderator can move this to a new or other thread. You would have been better off posting to a Windows forum area or starting a new thread. You should not be starting with messing around changing Windows versions. After carefully following instructions to trash prefs or using the PT Trasher utility (http://www.pro-tools-pc.us/category-s/1514.htm)--and seeing the slow startup/build of the plugin database--if the problem still persists you should try reinstalling the affected plugins using the latest installers downloaded fresh from the vendors web sites. And trash prefs again. And a very long-shot but you might also try moving all other .aaxplugin files out of the plugin directory and only installing say slate and trash prefs and see what happens. If that does not work and this problem is only specific to two plugin vendors I would go ahead and contact them and Avid support. |
