PT has stopped working???

Hi yo,
I am running PTLE 7.4 under Windows Vista 32. I also run PTLE 7.4.7 on my Mac. I run a dual boot computer. Thing is. I have been using the mac side for a couple of weeks. Then I come back over to the PC side and I cant even get PT to start up. It just says that
Pro Tools Application has stopped working...
and
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and it does the same thing. WTF?

I looked in msconfig and see that under services there is a digiSPTIService that says Stopped next to it. How can I enable it? I try to click on it in msconfig and it doesnt do anything. I cant remember where to go to enable it...

right click, properties, enable. need to check your startup and see if your digi stuff got disabled as well

Well I got that enabled. But it didnt help. I also checked in the startup tab and the only one I could see was the digidesign MME binder. And thatis checked.
In services there is digidesign mme refresh service and digiSPTI service and both of those are running.
I really dont get it. I didnt do anything that I can think of...

I forgot to mention that its been saying PT "failed to initialize 0xc0000005"
I cant even get it to start up at all. Is there some backdoor way to get it to startup?

I have tried updating the Pace drivers... No luck. I also saw someone mention that they had IE8 beta installed and they uninstalled and that worked. I to had IE8 beta installed but I cant remember if I uninstalled it. But I cannot find it in my add/remove programs. But I did install the new google chrome. I am gonna uninstall that and get back to you guys. I know everyone is anxiously awaiting my results...

trying to do a sfc /scannow and all I see is what looks like a black dos window pop up for a split second and disappear. Is that right?

I couldnt get the sfc /scannow to work so I restarted in safemode and tried it. It scanned all the way to 100 %. Then it closed and I didnt see it say anything.
The other thing I learned from safemode is that PT will atleast attempt to open. I actually got to see the splash screen and it loaded all the way up till it tells me to turn on my digi-002 and hit ok. It wouldnt go any further cause I had it in safe mode so Im sure some of the digi stuff wasnt turned on.
How can I tell what is causing it to not start in regular non-safemode?

OK...Ive narrowed it down to this.
If I start my computer up in safe mode I can start up Protools. I get the splashscreen and it gets all the way till it tells me to turn on my digi. And like I mentioned it wont go any further cause Im in safe mode and I think that part is disabled.
But if I try selective startup or even normal startup it wont even startup at all. Ive even gone to msconfig and unchecked everything in services and startup and it still wont even give me the splash screen.
So what is going on.
DIGI? what the heck could cause this?

Wait? It still doesnt work. I dont understand. Can I just return my digi then? it doesnt work...
