Thanks - I added this to the case as an attachment so tech can check it out for us.

What about the "Komplete Kontrol" protocol? The NI Keyboards offer simple Stop/Play/Record buttons, so it could be doable.

I believe it's a big oversight @avid to ignore the major change in the workfield in the last 5-8 years. So many producers have completly switched over to work from a laptop and are traveling to all kinda places all the time.

Mulligan filled a gap that no Avid controller is offering so far: quick plugin control and transportability.

I can understand if they don't want to support 3rd party hardware, but then at least give us a small eucon plugin controller.

Maybe a half size Avid Dock.

Like only an ipad + the 8 knobs (and maybe hardware buttons for "select" so you can easily switch to EQ Q).
Something you can throw into a laptop bag and easily set it up....
Bingo. Something small and bus powered would be so welcomed.

The Dock is laughably oversized. Who has that much desktop to spare for a few buttons, a jog wheel and a solitary fader? Or perhaps more fairly, why would anyone sacrifice so much desktop real estate if all they want is a solitary fader and a few buttons? I decided to dedicate a stream deck to automation functions. Avid won't be able to unceremoniously brick it in the future since it's just sending key commands.

If you look at the Dock as made to snap with the S1 to make a "Console", it makes sense. But even the S1 is a beast on a crowded desk. I get it, if you want full-throw fader and the other controls to fit on there. But I got one to replace my MC Control, but the ergonomics just weren't working the way it wants to be set up, and the tablet was blocking my display at the height I needed it. So, I decoupled the tablet and moved the S1 off to the side, where it wouldn't overwhelm my writing workflow. Some basic mini controls for travel would be nice. The Avid Control app is nice, but I have to drag 2 tablet for faders+ Soft Keys.

What would be great is a micro S1 - just 8 good faders, function buttons (aux, send etc) and a holder for a 10.2 inch iPad. Same dimensions as the iPad.

If they made that for $600, I'd sell my S1 tomorrow. I don't need any of the other functionality.

I’m the opposite. I just want 8-16 encoders that are Eucon enabled. I just want hands on control of plugins.

And yes, I’m aware this will NEVER happen.
