Default File Dialog Boxes

Given that my rig crashes at least twice a day, I spend a remarkable amount of time trying to find the appropriate file to load in from the Session Backup Files folder (a life saving feature if there ever was one). The current way of doing this is to open a Terminal window, cd /.../Session Backup Files/ and do ls -ltr and choose the file at the bottom.

Now this would be dead easy on a Windows box, you'd get the file load dialog, choose 'Details' view and sort by date, this silly faffing around at the command prompt really can't be the Mac alternative can it? Is there a 'details' view in the file load dialog that I've missed, this would be useful for all kinds of things, I'm stuck in this terrible column view where the file names don't fit in and the summary on the right has the modification date but not the modification time.

Am I being dumb?

(I think that if I'm not being dumb then everytime I see this i'm going to drown a kitten until it's fixed!)

Default Re: File Dialog Boxes

Go to the Sessions Backup folder in the finder. look at it in list view and click the Date Modified or Date Created column so that the triangle is facing down (from most recent to oldest). Drag the session at the top into the session folder and then double click it to open.

Only geeks use the terminal.

HTH, jim
