Default mbox pro issues

Hi I am running pro tools 11 on a mac mini using el capitan o/s. My interface is a Mbox pro and very recently I have got no signal coming in to the mbox. I have a keyboard connected through the stereo inputs and a guitar through the front input. The keyboard is also connected through the midi port and that works for triggering virtual instruments, but when going in as an audio, neither is registering a signal on the mbox. I have tried a few different leads and nothing. Any ideas???
I did have that high pitched sound coming out of the box (still do) so I updated the mbox drivers and I think that's when I lost my input sound
