If PT9 with CPTK is (almost) equal to Protools HD without the DSP does it include the ability to use the Satellite options?

The advantages of the interfaces having direct access to the PCI buss are many - firewire interfaces tend to fall apart as the I/O count / sample rate go up. I think the only current way to get good stability, low latency on high I/O count systems is with a PCIe interface. Same reason Apogee went that way with the Symphony...

I have a question..
To make a long story short.

I have an old PCI-x core card which I've been using in my home studio.
With my new computer I cant use that card. So been using LE back home and HD in the main studio. I don't own the equipment in the main studio.

I wanted to sell the old card. But now with HD9 I can upgrade and get HD on my home computer for £293. But then I cant sell the card right?
Because i guess i cant sell it with PTHD8 license and keep the PTHD9 License?? Can I??

IF i sell the old card and buy the LE to PT9 upgrade that will cost me £209 plus another £1675 to get the same features as HD.

Ok.. I will never get £1900 for an old PCI-x core card.
I dont know what to do. Keep an for me useless card or spend more money on complete toolkit.

I think i will keep the card just to be able to use HD9 on my laptop but it seem like a waste.
Or does anyone have a better idea for me?

Sorry, since I'm not english its quite hard to explain.
Grateful for answers. J

Thanks for the prompt response. Busy times here :).

There remains one question. My two iLok licenses(DVTK2 and Digitranslator) are not registered with Avid yet. I assume I'd need to register them in order to be eligible for the update to CPTK2. I have yet to find a way to do that on the Avid website. Can you point me to a place where I can do that or do I need to contact support via email ?

Yes, you would need to be registered.

I dont see any different between the Full Version and Upgrade Version.

Full version @ $599 and Upgrade Ver @ $349,the only differences is Full Version comes with iLok and an iLok cost only $39.95.

Do we have to pay for the shipping fees for full version

For new user, they'll receive the installation DVD and for HD ppl, we can juz upgrade ver so what's the full version abt???

Hi,

Wrapped plugs should work as they already do, no reason why they should stop now!!

Heat is TDM only at this time
