Default PT9 old interface compatibility?

My question/problem - I'm running PT9 and leopard/snow leopard but am having problems with PT recognizing some older PT audio interfaces? I wanted to check they are compliant with PT9 as a starting point, before search questions about drivers etc - as I was under the impression PT9 worked with any interface now?

We have problems with:
1. 002 (desktop mixer version)
2. Original MBox (Focusrite preamps - light blue colour)

Is anybody using these successfully with PT9? Are there specific drivers I would need to install for these older interfaces if they are supported - or should they 'work out of the box' when PT9 is installed?

Many thanks for your help.

Original Mbox is not supported.

For the Mbox 2 and 3 Series you can download drivers - they are optional and not included with Pro Tools anymore.

I imagine it's the same with the Digi 002, but I'm not sure.

You can get all the drivers here:

002 works fine with PT9. Original Mbox has worked some some brave souls(aka GENIUS types) that have fussed until they got lucky. The key is to get a working core audio driver. Avid announced end of support for the old Mbox about 2 years ago with the release of 8.0.1. 002, 003 and all later Mboxes have drivers available for download from Avid.
