Well at least it is better than cabbage disease. Ya know, where the STEM is too weak to hold up the head ♪♫♪ ☺

Another -utterly frustrated- bomp.

Client up-loads track to YouTube. Gets over 13K views in less than a day. No actual video just static image. Uses some crap software (and/or doesn't know WTF he's doing) and now my pristine sounding 320 kBps MP3 'consumer master' sounds like completely crushed & horribly warbled garbage!

Don't kids these days know anything at all..?! I have the 44.1/16 WAV right here but he never even bothered to ask for it. Feck!

Furthermore, again, the 'beat-maker' is credited as producer. No mention at all of the studio this was recorded at, or the engineer or the actual producer of the track.

This after spending half a day editing (out the abundant and annoying tags in) the two track, enhancing it with additional instruments and assorted audio-trickery. And at least a day's worth of editing, tuning the $#!t out of the vocals and general mixing.

The track has as many haters as there are fans commenting. The sad thing is, nobody seems to notice the abysmal audio quality.

Please remind me again, why do I even bother..?!

It's not just kids with cloth ears who have never known anything better. I write a lot of library music. My publisher's website hosts the downloads. Each track is available in various formats from 24bit 48khz wavs down to crappy mp3s. A staggering 90% of broadcasters/production companies/etc. use the cruddy mp3. 70 to 80% of my earnings come from abroad so it's not just cloth eared Brits, it's major broadcasters worldwide.

I have over 2000 tracks out there and I've only ever been asked for stems FIVE times in 20 years. And that wasn't for quality reasons, the editor just wanted to re-arrange the track.

It doesn't pay to be precious, it will just make you very sad.
