Default While I\'m waiting...

I thought I'd say hi.

Just ordered the Mbox from Sweetwater and getting ready for delivery. I was pleasently suprised that my new notebook - Inspiron 9300 - was near the top of the list for supported machines.

Is there anyone else using this computer and if so, do you have any comments or issues I should consider?

I come from Logic - sounded good, but I had to tweak the daylights outta my older Dimension 8100 to get it working properly. Also from Cubase SX2 which ran great without a single system tweak - but I didn't like the sound. Finally able to now make the move to PT - to join the real world and hopefully, the audio engine lives up to its name.

I typcially avoid propietary systems, but I think it this case its warranted for overall stablity between software - drivers - and hardware.

And just to get started - I'll be using the internal drive. Yeah, I know - it's a system drive PLUS only 4200 RPM. I will be getting an external FW or USB drive for audio, but I think it will be fun to see just how far this configuration goes.

Thanks for reading and for all the informative posts I've read so far.

welcome LSW!

I'm sure someone here with an MBox will be glad to answer your questions shortly. All I can add is I would strongly suggest a FW drive to put the audio/sessions on, leaving PT on the system drive
