I have no idea if it is relevant or not, but since Daniel asked about graphics card, I think that the 2012 model shipped with Intel HD Graphics 4000 (integrated graphics) rather than a dedicated graphics card.

I believe I just solved the issue! In Mavericks there is a check box that says "Prevent App Nap". I checked this box and my issues went away instantly and I'm now back to running as well as I was before I upgraded to Mavericks. To get to this screen just right click the Eucon icon and select "Get Info". The box to check will be next to the box that also asks to open apps in 32 bit mode in some 64 bit applications.

Wavetwister, look at my post above and click "Prevent App Nap" checkbox. Mavericks has a power save mode now when the application is running in the background. Once I clicked this I have not had a single issue since.

i upgraded to mavericks and now all my units are dead, well not dead butthey just sit there with AVID written on them and the E is gone now to

brand new IMAC
Quad i7 3.5
32 gigs ram
1 TB SSD internal driver

brand new cubase install

was working fine on 10.8.5

anything i can do at this point? i dont even get the E to check the hardware anymore

2 artist mixes
1 artist V2 control
1 Transport
