Default 001 converters and preamps vs. oo2r converters and

i know everyone hated the A/D and D/A converters on the oo1. are they any better on the oo2R? how about the pre amps? are they any better?

Given the price point for the 001, saying "everyone hated" the mic pres and converters is a bit harsh, don't you think? While I use other mic pres, and will eventually get other converters, the 001 pres and converters are usable.

The 001 converters, for the time they were introduced, are actually not that bad. Yes, there are better converters, but you you get what you pay for. The 002 mic pres and converters are reported to be substantially better, and this may be reflected in part of the additional price of the 002 units. I have an 002 on order and look forward to hearing an improvement. There will probably be a few people who "hate" the 002 converters and mic pres, too. Hey, you just can't please some people.

Search the forum and you will find the info you are after. There have been many threads that discuss this.
