since i have NOT loaded up cs2 yet here's my 'unofficial' take based on driver versions on W7. it seems as if the driver versions are the same in cs2 as they are in 8.0.4, for say the 002, which is 8.0.4.245 (based on the posts here). so until Avid ACTUALLY mods/fixes the W7 drivers and gives us NEW versions we will stay where we are...close

Hmmm, I was incorrect with 8.0.3cs2 - so I ran more tests for interest sake.

8.0.3cs2 - 29 samples late thru 002R mic pre.

8.0.3cs2 with new drivers (8.0.4.245) - 70 samples late thru 002R mic pre, 50 samples late thru Grace101 into Rosetta200 into 002R via spdif.

8.0.4cs2 with new drivers (8.0.4.245) - 75 samples late thru 002R mic pre, 42 samples late thru Grace101 into Rosetta200 into 002R via spdif.

I'm going to install 8.01 and test.

I have ran multiple tests on 8.03 cs2 with the supplied drivers and running a pre recorded click from a line out to a line in should be aprox 1 sample off

What interface were you usin' for that test? I never got that close with the 002 and 8.0.3 with the beta driver on w7/64.

I was using the method of holding a mic up to headphones.
