Default AAF, not OMF from Premier :)

For all intents and purposes, OMF is (and should be) DOA. AAF is better code. And when Premier keeps making changes, Ptools suffers. And Ptools changes mess up Premier imports.

I've attached a Screen Shot of Optimal Export Settings for Premier to AAF, as well as some Best Practices to share with your Editor friends. (The result of a LOT of troubleshooting and working with my editor friends to solve issues). Enjoy!
-------

Best Practice AAF exports from Premier:

-Make a duplicate sequence labeled “xxxx_AAFAudio_Only”. Remove ALL clip/track based processing (EQ/compression/noise reduction). Unprocessed audio files are best for Audio Post. **EXCEPTION WOULD BE ANY TIME COMPRESSION that's been done** (we can have a separate conversation about that)

-Leave fades and volume automation if you want so we know what your clients signed off on. We might change something tho :)

-DELETE all video tracks from this duplicate timeline (Especially if there are Nested Sequences!! These are known AAF killers). This makes your AAF export go WAY faster.

-DELETE: ANY tracks there were 'muted' in your original timeline, as that mute information doesn't transfer, and it will still include ALL of those tracks!
-export the Embedded file with handles as indicated

Dance with joy because your audio post peeps will be happy. :)

This should be a sticky and on Premiers forums...
Until Premier/Protools changes something again.

Also do not use Merged Clips!

When you use embedded AAF does it keep audio clip names and source timecode? I think it used to strip it, or maybe that was just with embedded OMF.
