Default Focusrite D2/D3

All,

Are these plugins worth the money? Ive been reading online but it seems they are very old and I cant really find a "review" per se. I am looking for a eq/comp suite to compliment my Waves renaissance plugs that isn't the UAD for now.

Download the demos and test them for yourself. I highly recommend the URS line of EQ's -- I haven't really found a compression plug-in that blows me away.

s0nguy ,

Although I do not use these plugins ( or hardly any...) I'm sure a search will turn up many, many decent reviews !
And...

happy tooling,

The reason I said "they are old" is because its not like we talking about vintage units here....these are plugins...For example, I think we all would agree that the LA2A plugin has improved over time since the first release and now with the UAD instance of it. I agree age has nothing to do with great outboard gear.......but these are 1's and 0's.

SOnguy, you have to keep in mind that when Lemix bought the 1980's stuff, it was brand new.

OK, Cliffy,

Let me inject a minor correction note in here;
>one cannot really compare hardware against software processing <
There is no way ( IMHO ) to duplicate the audio artifacts ( positive or negative ) of an aging piece of pro audio gear in software...
Besides, a loaded rack looks impressive to clients, and gives an impression of a knowledgable operator...
>"yo Bob, check out those flashing lights..."<

cheers,

Hey Andrew,
Do you still have the original Owner's manual? I found the bill for my 1976 ARP Axxe and 1973 Hagstrom. My 1974 TEAC A3340S has, alas, lost its Owner's manual and bill.

I use the D2 on a daily basis. I really like it! I find it easier to use than other EQs out there. But, like stated earlier, download the demo and give it try.

I have these, and really like them...but...

Another URS vote here for EQ's. They blew me away, each within about 10-20 seconds of inserting and twisting a few knobs.

For dynamics, I like the focusrite, but also like Waves RenComp. Also still waiting for that dynamics plug that blows me away.
