From what chassis - the computer or the extension chassis? You need to find out for yourself whether the adapter card that goes into the computer chassis will work in the slots in the MacPro you're looking at. It may fit but will it work? That's a question you'll have to figure out on your own.

PCIE is PCIE no matter what OS or computer you use.

I’m sure Magma has more info about the specific compatibility


What I would be unsure about is the required bandwidth of a HD7 versus what ever a Mac Pro 2.1 can give you on a x4 slot.

That needs to be considered but by someone more knowledgeable than me....

What was the last os to be able to run pro tools 10 HD

So any 4.1 or 5.1 will run these OSX’s then 10.6.7-10.8.8

Excellent. Just looked on eBay for some 4.1 they all seemed 2.6 processor and only 1 processor not 2 like the other ones I looked at. Are they any good still

It's okay but you need to do more looking. I'd think you could find a 4,1 or 5,1 with a quad core 3.33GHz chip which should be good enough considering you're still using your TDM cards. And don't forget it's easy to put your own ram in.
