Re: Command 8 PSU Pinout
Well. Despite my best efforts, I never could get an answer. However, I did figure it out on my own. I purchased a 50VA toroidal transformer with dual primary and secondary windings. After reading reactor's post about using a similar winding with the secondaries wired in parallel I decided to duplicate the vague reference. Building the transformer was the easy part. Not being able to verify the voltage to pin requirement was the challenge. Without any additional references, I decided to disassemble the motherboard for clues and bingo! I discovered two slow-blow fuses on two legs (12Vac each) and a circuit trace acting as the neutral. I didn't want to risk burning anything out so I isolated one of the windings, to prevent the 24Vac differential, and powered both circuits from a single winding. Voila! The C/8 powered up without any problem and has been operating very well. Hope this helps somebody...
