strange problems 002R

hey..
I have a ptle 6.4 digi002R

my computer is a
amd 64 3400+
asus k8v se deluxe mb
1GB ram

this setup seems to work great until I got the 6.4 version of ptle from this site..
I really have a strange problem
when I open a new session and try to record with a H/W buffer size at 128 samples, on just a singel audio track no plugs etc. I get this error:
the operating system held off interrupts for too long. if this ocurrs frequently try increase the HW buffer size in the playback engine panel.

when I just have in rec ready. I cant monitor correctly just clicks and a popping sound. It looks like there is something really wrong...

I really should have no issues about record many tracks with bothe 128 and 64 samples with my system.

has the problems acurred because of softwarebugs, 002r hardware, og firewire computer related??

Im really stuck, and need some help with this ..

you should be able to track with 512 samples just fine, are you using the low latency monitoring option???

there is no different using the low latency monitoring option or not.the problem seems to be something else..

I just dont really know what cause a problem like this...

I have one separate system drive (sata) and one firewire drive just for audio...I have 2 firewire connectors in my motherboard.. everything is new..

I have now ordered the adaptec firewire pci card approved by digidesign, so if it is a firewire problem, adaptec schould do the work..

THe 002R firewire led is flashing sometimes without doing nothing.. and I can also monitor clicks...
Im a lucky guy if the adaptec card will do the magic..

if you were presented with the option upon first launching PTLE 6.4, did you update the 002 firmware?

yes I think so. but I remember I had some errors.. when I reinstalled 6.4 (because problems) I was not asked to update the 002R firmware, so I guess the firmware from the first installation was ok.
