Default Anyone happy whith the Digi 001??

I must be reading the wrong posts,
Because all i keep seeing is : it doesn't do this, doesn't do that , it crashes my system, ect ,

I just watched the video for the digi 001
and if it actualy does all that they demonstrated on the video, then i'm sold.

So, is anyone happy ? :}

Yes, I'm happy.
001 does what it does and does not what it does not. For me those "does" are more valuable than "does not", so I'm happy.
But the video... hmm...
What I saw was voices on tracks (meaning virtual tracks) and... nothing interesting
YMMV.
Przemek.

Digi001 has surpassed my expectations. I am quite happy. (And, it's been a lot less hassle than the MOTU 2408.)

I'm more than happy.

I'm an engineer at a multi-room commercial studio. I have access to all sorts of great gear: analog multitracks, a Neve, etc... Now, I can transfer my tracks into ProTools and open 24 tracks of 24 bit audio in my living room with automation and plug-ins. I'm syncing via MTC with a Zeta III, and it works pretty well, it's not perfect, but it works. I already own great preamps & compressors and an Apogee Rosetta. For $1,000 and an upgrade to G4 I'm able to work on all of those projects I used to wish I had time to squeeze in on spec time and days off. Sure there are limitations. I can relate to the frustrations, I'm in the trenches every day. But, from my perspective, **** all of these people dominating this forum with complaints. My 001 has already changed my life. Hell, I went out and bought a new electric guitar last weekend and I'm starting to remember what got me into this business in the first place. I've spent most of the last week working on one song that I've been meaning to put down for over a year. And... I spent my Valentine's Day detuning a snare drum...hit by hit....for fun....because I can.

So, if you've been thinking about taking the plunge, all I can say is "come on in, the water's fine".

jack-

It's like I've said in many other posts... even though there are some valid complaints with the 001 (show me one flawless system, even for 100 times the cost of a 001), most of the people who complain here either don't know what they're doing (or what they bought) or wish the 001 were the $30,000 TDM system (even though it's so close, it's scary). Back to your original question: Am I happy? Happy is an understatement. Buy the 001.

Well yeah, it's great. I don't know about the software part of PT 5.0 LE, I use Logic Audio. The best bang for the buck, I think. People are always gonna complain, though. I'm sure there's complaints on the ProTools 24 Mix + list!!!!

I'm very very happy my 001 - realizing that I only ask it to do what they advertised it can do. It's a complete, great sounding 24 track home studio, and I use it as an extremely cost effective songwriting and demo rig. I don't do post production with it. I am not a MIDIphile and don't need high level MIDI editing features. I love that I can take my sessions (on my external HD) to a "real studio" with a ProTools TDM system and have it work perfectly there. I think PTLE is awesome, and probably the easiest and most elegant interface out there. Sure there's room for improvement, but all in all, I am a very satisfied user.
