Perhaps I missed the firmware update. My apologies.

Yes. I can confirm that with firmware version 2.10 its very scilent.
It's not dead scilent like my room but so quiet that I have no problem tracking right beside it. It will not be noticable in the recording unless you gain up by atleast 10-15 db. Even then it will be very hard to notice even in a quiet part.

I think I may be confused about firmware versions. I thought 2.6 was later than 2.10, and that doesn't seem to be the case. Apologies.

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered. I am glad to hear the firmware update works for everyone.

TOM METRO I have to ask ART unit do you have and why would you list it along side the rest of the nice gear you have. Is it one of the 80s rack mount things they made or something new,er

They are listed because they were nice enough to offer them to me, and I'm nice enough to credit them for it. I find uses for virtually every piece of equipment I can get my hands on, even if it's just to add a particular warmth, phase anomaly or harmonic distortion, etc. And of course... I am in no means suggesting that these or anyone else’s products are limited to these purposes. And yes, this is the 'older' rack tube stuff.

I got mine yesterday. The new firmware offers much less fan noise, but runs somewhat hotter. I turned the fan back on full time, as I don't hear it much in the rack.
