Default Mbox 2 Pro Win7

It says I need WinXP with SP2, but I am running Win7. I just downloaded this driver: http://secure.digidesign.com/service...&localeCode=en

Still no joy. Anyone know how to get Mbox 2 Pro running on Win7?

You need v8.0.5 for Windows 7. You are not going to get v7 working on Windows 7.

Cheers,

My MBox 2 Pro Just sits there unused. I just tried the v8 upgrade and it says it can't detect Pro Tools LE7. Seems like I am stuck: If I can't install my licensed Pro Tools LE7 on Win7, then I can't install the v8 upgrade; therefore, I've got an obsolete piece of hardware.

Not sure this is the right place:

PT8 was a paid upgrade.
You would have to have the full PT 8.0.4 disk (8.0.3 may work as well) install that then the 8.0.5 update.
The 8.0.5 updates use the PT8 authorization that comes with the full version.

Not sure if earlier versions of PT8 will install on Windows 7 but 8.0.4 does.

Your options are to go eBay for PT8, PT9 or PT10 if you don't want to buy PT11 since PT8 isn't in the Avid Store anymore.

Does the Mbox pro 2 hardware still work with the PT8, PT9 and PT10?

Another case for drive imaging. This will probably be solved by a fresh install of everything. The "trick" with LE8.x and Windows 7 is this. Run the installer(8.0 or 8.03) and when it asks you to connect the interface, DON'T. Just clock on okay, let it finish and reboot. Then run the 8.0.5 update(which is only an update) and when the update asks for the interface, DO connect it. Once it finishes, reboot and have your authorization code handy(the one that starts with "DIGIO8.....") and cross your fingers.

2 things to remember:
the code has lower case letters and spaces which MUST be used
ignore any popups telling you "New Hardware Found". Don't click on them at all(they will go away by themselves).

Unfortunately in his case he never owned PT8 so he was doomed before he even started.
He was trying to use the 8.0.5 update on Version 7, but he can't do it without owning PT8.

I guess I'm just different from most I tend to change the Avid hardware then get the computer because I have to, not get a new computer then try to make it work.

Personally I could work just as easy with my old P4 or G4 from days long gone.
While many things have been improved or added over the years there was never a day that the DIGI001 didn't get the job done.
I have changed Digi/Avid hardware over the years more often than I changed computers

If my MBox Pro 2 will still work, then it looks like I need to buy LE9 or LE10.

PT8 LE was the last LE and the last one locked to the hardware.
PT9 like PT8 LE is gonna be an eBay only item.
PT10 is still available and gets you PT11 for free.

So you would be looking for the Pro Tools 10 Crossgrade/Upgrade from PT LE which is $399.
