Recording Guitar with Eleven Rack and Focusrite Liquid Sapffire 56

I am looking at live recording a band using eleven rack and focusrite liquid saffire 56 (8 inputs).

Setup:
Drums to have a couple of overheads and kick mic
Bass to be DI (and separate amp mic as an option)
Guitar mesa boogie studio .22
Vocals to be overdubbed later thru liquid Saf 56
Protools 10


Questions:

1) When recording a guitar..

Is it better to plug ..
guitar > mesa amp > eleven rack directly into pc (rest of band into focusrite) or
guitar > mesa amp > eleven rack > focusrite > pc
or
guitar > eleven rack (with line out to focusrite or pc) > somehow loop to mesa amp (with mic to focusrite) >
or
any other variations?


2) also what is the preferred bit rate to record at.. my focusrite goes to 192k

im just starting out with all this digital recording stuff..what do you guys recommend is the best setup?

I love the sound of my live mesa but would also like to have the reamp or effects options of the eleven rack if pos

You're better off recording your guitar direct through the Eleven Rack, then after the fact, you can look into using the reamping function to go to the Mesa.

As for sample rate, 44k is fine because that's how it will end up on the CD.
