Transferring PT10HD license with hardware?

Reposting here, since AVID hasn't responded elsewhere:

I'm planning on selling my HD1 PCI-E core card with an PT10HD license ILOK asset, but can't seem to find a definitive answer as to the process of transferring the ILOK asset to a new owner. Some have claimed you need to buy a new ILOK, add it to your account, transfer the asset to the new ILOK, then remove it from your account and sell it with your card (some have said this no longer works). Others have said you can just transfer the license via ILOK (for $25), but I recall seeing that PT's assets are NOT transferable. I don't want to list the package for sale without knowing how the deal will go down. Anyone familiar with the process? Maybe someone from AVID could give the definitive response.

You might try to contact Avid directly about this. You don't need a support code for registration/activation issues, which this falls under. You might try to call them and follow the prompts.

The Sticky points me to the "Transfer of Ownership" page that does NOT explicitly explain HOW to transfer licenses between users.

And someone just (today) posted on another thread that "we sold a native system on Friday I was told that the new buyer ail have to re-purchase a new copy of Pro Tools since Avid no longer allows transfers of used versions of HD10 - they are now blocking transfers of Vanilla Pro Tools as well. We lost a license try to transfer that as well."

I just wish AVID would chime in and confirm if/how transfers are supposed be handled.

I've posted this question in the mods forum so hoping to get the official answer as to how to transfer the ilok license.

It may be a case of using the transfer of ownership and contacting Avid to get approval which will be passed on to ilok then the transfer will be able. This is how it's been with other companies who don't support non-supported transfers. Approval must be sought first then ilok will allow the transfer.

Hope to get the answer soon.
