Is There a Way to disable the "Insertion Follows Playback" Shortcut ?
Hi there,
I was wondering if there was a way to disable the shortcut for "Insertion Follows Playback" (The "N" Key). A lot of people hit it by accident as it's near the "B" Key and as we don't really use it that much I'd like to desactivate it to save us some time. Anyone knows how to do that ? Thanks. |

No but that brings up a good point, it would be a nice feature if you could....disable and enable certain shortcuts

Re: Is There a Way to disable the "Insertion Follows Playback" Shortcut ?
That denies the use of all those beauty commands keyboard focus shortcuts,
but "Y" for "Move Clip Start To Current Timecode", that is a pain. One way to disable N or Y to assign this to a script, that does nothing, when the N or Y is pressed. But that hampers when writing a name and any of those letters are needed.

Re: Is There a Way to disable the "Insertion Follows Playback" Shortcut ?
I realize this thread is 8 years old so I sincerely hope it's OK to post here, but has anyone ever found a solution to this? I accidentally hit the Y key and the B key hundreds of times a day and it is mind-bogglingly frustrating. My hands shake a lot due to a nerve problem I've been having, and I'm not that great at typing. I'm on PTHD 11.3.2/OS X 10.10.5 if anyone knows a good workaround for this. It would be SUUUPER appreciated!

Me too. Constantly hitting N by accident, drives me nuts. Would be easy if there was a global activation list for all the command, but Avid will never do this.
