Audio Volume Transfer only on Encrypted disk image?

I've read all the posts on this forum regarding transfer volumes and changing them from the workspace to record.
this doesn't work on my encrypted volume I am trying to record on. it says the volume is not a fixed, removable or media net volume as an error message.
yet, the formatting of these disk images are the same as the volumes that are acceptable to record on, with the exception of the encryption.
anyone know how to remedy this?

I do not know for sure but my first thought (probably obvious) is the encryption is messing it up.

I would back up the drive and re format/ without encryption.

But you probably have thought of that..

is it a hardware encryption? software done via formatting? is it a volume on a partitioned drive? What else is on the other partition?

You cannot record to encrypted volumes. The solution would be to use a volume that's not encrypted.
